CMT COMMUNITY · HOW PHYSICIANS IN THIS FIELD ACTUALLY CONNECT
Community in medicine
doesn't look like
a message board.
If you came here looking for a forum to join or a group to log into — we're going to give you an honest answer about why that's not what we built. And then we're going to show you what we built instead, and why we think it's actually more useful.
"Trying to force daily online 'community engagement' onto doctors and their already busy practice is a bit like launching a book club in an ER waiting room. Nice idea. Wrong environment. That's why CMT built its community ecosystem around real-world behavior — meeting physicians where they already are."
— Editor-in-Chief, Concierge Medicine Today
The annual conference is the community. Join us in Atlanta this October.
Every year, the physicians, leaders, and practitioners in this field gather at CMF. Three days of the most meaningful professional connection available in membership medicine. (Learn More).
WE UNDERSTAND WHAT PHYSICIANS GATHER AROUND — AND CMT BUILT COMMUNITIES TO MEET THEM THERE

Events
The annual Concierge Medicine Forum is where relationships form, ideas are shared, and the community experiences itself as a real thing — not a notification count.
💡
Insight
The CMT weekly eJournal and Knowledge Library deliver practical perspective that physicians actually read — because it's independent, specific, and free of vendor noise.

Authority
The DocPreneur Leadership Podcast builds trust over time through honest conversations with physicians who are actually doing the work — not consultants selling a framework.

Relationships
The most valuable community moments in this field happen in hallways, at dinner, and in private peer conversations. CMF is where those relationships start.
THE CMT COMMUNITY ECOSYSTEM — SIX WAYS TO STAY CONNECTED
The honest answer to "where do all these concierge doctors hang out online?"
It's the most common question we get. And the answer is not what most people expect.
Most paid online communities in healthcare are ghost towns. Even the big-name ones. They exist because organizers want community — not because physicians actually use them. Busy physicians don't need another login, another password, or another place to "check in." They already have more portals than they can manage.
So CMT made a deliberate decision years ago: no babysitting ghost towns. No gated platforms pretending to be active. No forcing engagement that doesn't naturally happen.
We built something different. Here's what actually works.
Where meaningful physician engagement actually happens
✓ Conferences — real conversations, real relationships, real time
✓ Email newsletters — simple, direct, actually read
✓ Podcasts — listened to during commutes and between patients
✓ LinkedIn — occasionally, when content is genuinely useful
✓ Trusted publications — when they maintain editorial integrity
✓ Private peer conversations — the most valuable of all
✕ Niche online forums — almost universally low engagement
✕ LinkedIn groups — algorithmically buried, rarely visited
✕ Gated community platforms — ghost towns within 6 months
Why CMT didn't build a traditional online community — and why that was the right call.
We were building online communities when social media platforms were first launching. We built some. We watched what happened to most of them — and we made a deliberate choice to evolve.
This isn't a startup founder Slack group. This isn't Peloton. The CMT audience is busy physicians, practice owners, executives, care teams, and administrators. They don't log into niche communities daily. They barely check LinkedIn groups. They show up for what's genuinely useful — and then they get back to work.
Community isn't about another login. It's about where people actually show up. And in this field, they show up where it matters most.
