Concierge Medicine Today’s editorial staff invites you to share your insights and best practices in the field of concierge medicine with our readership, which primarily comprises physicians and healthcare professionals. If you are interested in contributing an article, please take a moment to review the following guidelines, which detail the requirements, suggestions, and frequently asked questions for guest writers at Concierge Medicine Today. Should you have any further inquiries, please feel free to reach out to us.

  • Intended Audience: Our primary audience consists of doctors, particularly those who are already practicing or transitioning to a concierge medicine model. We encourage you to share your expertise with our entrepreneurial physician readers, especially those moving away from traditional fee-for-service practices toward independent concierge models. This includes concierge family physicians, internal medicine specialists, cardiologists, pediatricians, geriatricians, emergency physicians, and others contemplating or currently practicing within this subscription-based healthcare delivery framework. We also welcome contributions from concierge nurses, physician assistants, hospital-based physicians, OB/GYNs, healthcare executives, consultants, attorneys, and practice managers. If your content relates to concierge medicine, we would be delighted to review it for potential publication in Concierge Medicine Today.

  • Content: We focus on entrepreneurial topics and solutions-focused journalism that covers various topics, including trends in concierge medicine, patient experience and process improvement, overcoming operational management challenges, improving leadership skills within a medical practice, deep dives into healthcare innovation and unpack new healthcare technology. Content within those topics for physicians will typically be given priority.

  • Length: Articles should range from 500 to 2,000 words.

  • Final Format Required: All guest contributions must be submitted in final format. Please note that submissions should not consist of press releases or syndicated material used across multiple publications.

  • Abstract: While drafting an abstract is optional, most contributors submit one along with their final article, which typically ranges between 500 and 1,500 words.

  • Headlines and Subheads: We request that you suggest a headline and subhead for your article. If you do not provide these, we will create them and publish the article with our chosen title and subhead. Concierge Medicine Today, LLC reserves the right to edit these suggestions.

  • Exclusivity: Yes, guest articles must be exclusive. Contributions should not be press releases or syndicated content.

  • Deadlines and Release Dates: There are no set deadlines for guest articles intended for online publication. The timing of an article’s release will depend on our editorial calendar, and we cannot guarantee a release date upon receiving a submission. If our editorial staff approves your article, the publication timing will be at their discretion, and contributors will not be notified of the release date due to the volume of submissions.

  • Style: We prefer articles to adhere to Associated Press (AP) style. Writing should resemble that found in publications such as Time Magazine, Outside Magazine, or USA Today. Please avoid using endnotes, footnotes, or scholarly formats.

  • Advertising Clarification: Guest articles should not serve as advertisements for your business. Contributions from vendors are welcome, provided the content remains neutral and does not promote a specific vendor. If you are interested in paid advertising with Concierge Medicine Today, please inform us, and we will connect you with the appropriate contact.

  • Include All Citations, References and Sources: Articles should incorporate quotes or paraphrases from other sources, which should be cited within the text or linked at the end of the article. Endnotes, citation lists, or footnotes are to be avoided.

  • Terminology: When referring to individuals in the healthcare profession, please use the terms "physicians" and "other clinicians" whenever possible. The term "providers" should be used sparingly.

  • Formatting: Please submit your article as a Microsoft Word document attached to an email. Avoid using double spaces between sentences, as this can lead to formatting issues on our website.

  • Include Author Credentials and One Paragraph Bio: Include relevant credentials (e.g., MD, DO, PhD, MPH, MBA, JD) along with a brief biographical note (one or two sentences) for inclusion at the end of your article.

  • Include Photo You Have 100% Rights to Share: While including a headshot is encouraged, it is not mandatory. Many contributors find that a photo fosters a personal connection with readers. Concierge Medicine Today does not guarantee publication of submitted photos. You accept all liability, claims and damages if you do not own the rights to the photo you submitted. Please include photographer credits/sources if necessary.

  • Publication Nature: Concierge Medicine Today, LLC is a business-to-business publication aimed at physicians and is not a clinical journal. We are sunsetting and have discontinued our sister publications, The Concierge Medicine Research Collective, The Direct Primary Care Journal (The DPC Journal) and The Journal of Retail Medicine. However, Concierge Medicine Today, LLC continues to host the industry’s annual medical conference, the Concierge Medicine Forum, along with host and curate continuing medical education webinars within the industry’s online community, the FOR Doctors Forum.
